In 2016, my Co-Founder Chase and I had the idea of upgrading gardening into the 21st century with our smart indoor gardening devices. Fast forward 24 accolades, 6 years, and 3 patents later, we realized that there was one more important aspect to innovate on: the business model itself.
What’s changed?
When we first started working on the AVA Byte Smart Garden, we focused on developing, manufacturing, and selling our physical hardware. It was a necessary process for us to go through in order to better understand how complex and integrated the growing technology is.
In 2020, COVID-19 changed the way we buy goods forever. In 2022, global food security is at risk. Our mission at AVA has always been to help the world grow some of their own food, so that we can shift a portion of our preference and dependence away from mass agriculture to more local, nutritious and sustainable alternatives. We realized that instead of focusing on selling gardens, there was a more accessible and simple way for more people around the world to start growing their own food.
Enter our new subscription model: The Harvest Club by AVA! Our amazing team has been working tirelessly to bring forth this exciting new membership program.

You have the flexibility to start with a yearly or 100-day Harvest Club membership. Plants (pod packs) are included in both membership plans.

After 100 days of growing, you’re in control – customize plant selection, payment schedule, and delivery based on your needs and switch to an annual, quarterly, or monthly subscription plan.
By committing to a 1-year subscription, you’ll save 26% off your membership. You’ll receive the AVA Byte Smart Garden and three plant pod packs to get growing, and will have the flexibility to customize your full-year plant selection and delivery based on your needs.
