Germinates in: 7-12 days. First harvest: 30-40 days. Second harvest: around 60 days.
Alyssums typically grow in warm weather, so aim to keep the plant in warmer temperatures during the germination phase.
To harvest, cut the stem at a 45-degree angle to the desired length and remove leaves from the bottom 3/4ths of the stem. Harvest when 2/3rds of the flowers on a stem have opened.
Not safe for consumption.
In the Victorian language of flowers, alyssums represent “worth beyond beauty” or the “sweetness of soul”.
