Mushroom Kit FAQs

Your mycelium’s home will impact the quality and yield your growing kit will produce. Be sure to pick a high humidity room like your kitchen with 50-100% humidity. Most mushrooms like ambient (not direct) light. Place the kit near a
window facing away from the sunlight.

Each mushroom prefers different temperatures, but a range between 20-24°C (68-75°F) will produce happy mushrooms!

You should start to notice mini mushrooms emerging from the bag in approximately 1-2 weeks. This process is called “pinning”. Mushrooms grow A LOT faster than plants! Once you see tiny mushrooms, be ready to harvest your growing kit in as little as a few days.

This is normal. Once the mycelium has covered the entirety of the fruiting block the mushrooms want to fruit. Cutting the plastic gives them an influx of oxygen to fruit toward but some of the pins are just a bit too eager! You can cut the plastic above the baby mushroom for it to flourish.

No! The kit is ready for growth once you remove the cut-out and slice an X in the bag. However, you may want to remove the bag from the box to do the soaking method.

Be patient, sometimes the mycelium takes time to fruit. However, there are a few factors that may prevent your mushrooms from fruiting. If the environment is too warm, try placing the box in the fridge for a day or finding a cooler area. If the environment is too dry, try the soaking method or increase your misting.
